If that is the case, there are some great Chinese restaurants in West Liberty, Kentucky, and the surrounding area, so you can shake up your holiday pallet. Here are some of the best options for when you and your family are craving some delicious Chinese food.

Peking

Peking has a large selection of menu items, including soups, starters and many chicken, beef, pork, seafood, and vegetarian Chinese dishes. It’s about an hour away in Prestonsburg, and its delicious Chinese cuisine is worth the trip. The “all you care to eat” buffet offers a wide selection of choices, and many people call the restaurant Peking Chinese Buffet. You can choose from lots of international dishes as well as Chinese food. The chefs prepare your meal to order, and they’re happy to accommodate special requests.

If you’re in the mood for something different, check out the Peking Japanese Hibachi Restaurant in Pikeville. It has a full-service sushi bar and hibachi tables.

City King Buffet

City King Buffet is about an hour away in Mount Sterling. It offers a modern interpretation of classic dishes, and it only uses high-quality, fresh ingredients. Takeout is available, and the diet menu is delicious. You can choose healthy dishes like bean curd and mixed vegetables, steamed broccoli, and shrimp with Chinese vegetables.

You can also treat yourself with moo goo gai pan, shrimp with lobster sauce, beef with oyster sauce, and more. Appetizers include crab rangoon, spring rolls, egg rolls, potato skins, steamed dumplings, and fried biscuits. City King Buffet is open from 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Sunday through Thursday. On Friday and Saturday, it’s open until 10 p.m. Lunch is from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., and the prices are surprisingly low. It’s an ideal place to enjoy a family lunch and get some extra dishes for later.

Peking Dragon Chinese Restaurant

Peking Dragon Chinese Restaurant used to be called Mandarin House, and it’s one of the most popular in the West Liberty area. It’s about an hour away in Paintsville, and it has a large buffet, a sushi bar, and a hibachi grill. There are plenty of tables, so most people won’t have to wait.

The price for the buffet is low, and it includes rows and rows of options. You can also get a discount for deciding on takeout. Salads and lots of vegetables make it an ideal place for people with dietary restrictions or those who don’t like Chinese food. Peking Dragon Chinese Restaurant is open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and it stays open an extra hour on weekends.

If you’re willing to drive a little farther, you can visit some more Chinese places in Lexington, about an hour and a half away. Panda Cuisine has lots of interesting items, including corn pepper chicken, spicy rice noodle cake, and hot and sour lettuce. You should also take some time to visit Golden Wok. It specializes in authentic Chinese food, and the menu offers more than 125 great choices.
