2020 Ford Escape

Recently, Ford released some information about some of the new updates to expect on the 2020 Escape. If you’ve been thinking about getting a new compact crossover SUV, learn more about the new features you can find inside and outside the Escape that make it the perfect option.

Sleek New Exterior

The redesigned exterior of the 2020 Escape now offers a lower and sleeker profile that’s meant to satisfy car buyers who were hesitant about Ford’s decision to stop making sedans. The car manufacturer says the Mustang inspired the grille on the Escape, and the lower half of the front end was designed to model the GT. While the Escape might look more like a sedan, it’s actually bigger than the previous model. In fact, the 2020 Escape comes in at 2.4 inches longer and 3.8 inches wider than its predecessor.

Numerous Engine Options

If you’re searching for a new Ford that offers plenty of engine options to suit your needs, you’ll love what you find in the 2020 Escape. The crossover SUV will come standard with a turbocharged 1.5-liter engine that generates 180 horsepower and 177 pound-feet of torque. If you’re looking for more power, you can also go with the available turbocharged 2.0-liter engine that delivers 250 horsepower and 275 pound-feet of torque. On the other hand, if efficiency is your concern, the Escape will now offer two hybrid engines.

Spacious Interior

Inside the new 2020 Ford Escape, all five passengers will enjoy more headroom, shoulder room, and hip room. The Escape will also come with sliding rear seats that make it easy to customize the interior to your needs. If you have people in your back seat, you can slide the seats all the way back to give them more legroom. If you have large cargo in the back, you can slide the seats forward to reveal 37.5 cubic feet of cargo space, which is almost 4 cubic feet more than what the previous Escape offered.

Updated Infotainment System

The 2020 Escape will come with some innovative technology features to help you stay connected. With the exception of the base trim level, every Escape will come standard with an infotainment system that has an 8-inch touch-screen display. The Escape will also be available with SYNC 3, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Waze navigation, and Amazon Alexa connectivity. Plus, every model will come standard with Ford Pass Connect and 4G LTE Wi-Fi connectivity for up to 10 devices.

Numerous New Safety Features

The 2020 Escape now comes standard with plenty of new safety features. No matter which trim level you get, every Escape will include automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, lane keep assist, blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, and a rearview camera. The Escape will also be available with adaptive cruise control with lane centering, a head-up display, and evasive steering assist.

If you’ve been thinking about getting a compact crossover SUV, you now have several great reasons to wait until the new 2020 Ford Escape hits dealerships later this year.
