2020 Ford F-150

The 2020 Ford F-150 is a modern and versatile full-size pickup truck that features multiple powertrains, a best-in-class payload, excellent tow ratings, and a long list of available luxury and technology features. You can also choose from seven different trims, namely the XL, XLT, Lariat, King Ranch, Platinum, Limited, and Raptor. Here’s a short breakdown of four of these trims.

XL

If it’s a utility vehicle you’re after, opt for the XL trim, which is a no-nonsense work truck. It’s powered by a 3.3-liter Ti-VCT V-6 engine that’s paired with a six-speed automatic transmission to produce a respectable 290 horsepower and 265 pound-feet of torque. The exterior is relatively well-equipped with features like halogen headlights, two front tow hooks, daytime running lights, and 17-inch steel wheels.

Although the cabin isn’t exactly luxurious, it’s functional and offers all the necessary basics like cloth upholstery, air conditioning, and four speakers. This trim offers impressive standard safety gear though, which includes pre-collision assist with emergency braking, a rearview camera, and automatic high beams.

Lariat

With the Lariat trim comes a 2.7-liter EcoBoost V-6 engine that works together with a 10-speed automatic transmission system to produce a spirited 325 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque. This trim also adds a long list of exterior and interior features. On the outside, the Lariat boasts power-adjustable and heated mirrors with memory and turn-signal indicators, a driver-side auto-dimming rearview mirror, 18-inch aluminum wheels, and a power-lock tailgate.

The cabin receives many luxury upgrades, including heated and ventilated front seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, leather upholstery, ambient lighting, and dual-zone automatic climate control. Like the XLT, the Lariat comes with the Sync 3 infotainment system that features an 8-inch display, a Wi-Fi hot spot, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility.

King Ranch

The King Ranch trim introduces a robust 5.0-liter Ti-VCT V-8 engine that combines with a 10-speed automatic transmission to produce an output of 395 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque. With this trim also comes added features like LED fog lamps, LED box lighting, LED headlights and taillights, power-folding mirrors, and a two-tone paint treatment. Inside, the King Ranch boasts heated rear seats and a unique interior trim that includes genuine wood accents. In addition, this trim adds rain-sensing wipers and a reverse sensing system.

Raptor

Those who like their off-road adventures should opt for the Raptor trim, which boasts impressive standard off-road systems. These include heavy-duty skid plates, all-terrain KO2 tires, hood air extractors, class-exclusive Fox live valve monotube shocks, a torque-on-demand transfer case, two rear tow hooks, and an electronic-locking rear differential.

This trim also features a standard Terrain Management system that comes with seven selectable modes that are all geared for different terrain, including snow, sand, and rocks. The Raptor is powered by a 3.5-liter twin-turbo HO EcoBoost engine that pairs with a 10-speed automatic to produce a best-in-class 450 horsepower and 510 pound-feet of torque.
