2020 Ford Mustang

American muscle cars are back. With gas prices having dropped over the last five to six years and then leveling out, the appeal of fun-to-drive muscle cars has increased significantly. The newest engine capabilities and performance technology make the 2020 Ford Mustang a machine like no other. Here’s a look under the hood of this awesome car to show just how impressive the new Mustang is. You won’t be able to resist a test drive.

Delight in a Wide Range of Engine Options

There are five engine options available which will help you select the perfect Mustang for you in addition to a performance upgrade on one engine configuration. Despite the 2.3-liter EcoBoost engine being the engine configuration on the base model, it still boasts impressive stats such as 310 horses and 350 pound-feet of torque. You can upgrade this engine to the high-performance package for an extra 20 horsepower.

The Mustang GT features a more powerful 5.0-liter V-8 engine with an output of 460 horsepower and 420 pound-feet of torque. If you’re looking to get sucked back into your driver seat with the Mustang’s power, opt for at least the BULLIT, which is a 5.0-liter V-8 with 480 horsepower. The two highest-performing 2020 Mustangs are the Shelby GT350 and Shelby GT500. The 350 offers up 526 horses and 429 pound-feet of torque.

This option also redlines at a max RPM of 8,250, Ford’s highest revving production engine ever. Of course, the Shelby GT500 is off the charts compared to the other offerings. It has an estimated horsepower of over 700 and a 625 pound-feet of torque to suck the eyeballs into the back of your skull when you punch it. It has a 0-60 time of around 3.5 seconds and a quarter-mile time of 11 seconds.

Multiple Performance Packages

Building your dream muscle car from the ground up means you’ll have to select the visual package that’s right for you. The Carbon Fiber pack adds 20-inch carbon fiber wheels, wings, and embellishments. Brembo brakes and several other features are available on the GT Performance pack. Other available packs include the Level 2 Performance Pack, Pony Package, 2.3-L High Performance Package, Handling Package, and GT350R Package.

Ready to Roll Driver Assistance Features

Ford has stepped up their driver assistance game over the last few years and the inclusion of these features on the 2020 Mustang is a welcome sight. Pre-collision assistance features include emergency braking assistance, adaptive cruise control, and cross-traffic monitoring. The lane-keeping assistance system will alert you if you begin leaving the lane. Stray over the line too much and a coffee cup icon will appear, letting you know you should take a break. Automatic high beams are also available on the 2020 Mustang.
