Even those of us who drive burly Ford F-250s for work have a soft spot for great ice cream. You can always go to the grocery store for a half gallon, but sometimes it’s just nice to go to a great shop that will serve you up a delicious frozen treat covered in your favorite toppings. If it’s been one of those days, stop by one of these favorite spots of hours here in West Liberty, KY!
Freezer Fresh Dairy
You’ll find Freezer Fresh over on Prestonsburg St here in West Liberty. They open up at 10 AM every day but Sunday, when they open at 10:30. They close every night at 9:30 PM, so you can get your dessert fix almost anytime you want it. They have excellent homemade food at a very good price, and we are particularly partial to the milkshakes.
This place serves a lot of things other than dessert. They have burgers, fries, fried pickles, and more; but their frozen treats are by far the best in town! Their shakes come in 25 flavors and are absolutely scrumptious. Personally speaking, the peanut butter option is our go-to, but we don’t doubt you’ll find your own favorite after a few samplings!
Clark’s Pump-N-Shop
Yes, this is a gas station. Does that mean you should overlook it as a place for good dessert? Absolutely not! Clark’s Cafe inside has some truly excellent offerings. You’ll find the Cafe at 607 Main St in the Marathon Gas station, and they’re open from 5am until 11pm from Monday through Thursday, until midnight on Friday and Saturday, and from 6am until 11pm on Sunday. Check them out when you’re in need of a tasty treat on the go!
The Pizza Place
Yes, this is a pizza place, but there are some truly great options to enjoy in the way of desserts here. You’ll find them at 764 Main St, and they’re open from 10am until 9pm Monday through Thursday. On Friday and Saturday, they’re open later until 10pm. They’re closed on Sundays. Give them a call at (606) 743-3045 if you want to order a pizza to go with your milkshake, which we highly recommend.
Their shakes are amazing. They come in all the traditional flavors and some that are just fun, like Superman or cookie dough. We also really enjoy their cookies and cream shakes. They have a hand-dipped hard scoop in regular or waffle cones, and these also come in a variety of delicious flavors, all of which are incredibly tasty!
West Liberty isn’t the biggest town in Kentucky, but we still have some good places where you can get a treat. Start making your plans to check them out today!
