Blue Ford F150

The 2018 Ford F-150 continues to be one of the best-selling trucks even into the new year. Perhaps it’s the added power of a new turbodiesel engine or its versatility as both a work vehicle and recreational pickup that entices the public most. Either way, the 2018 Ford F-150 is here to stay. Find out what makes it a top choice for buyers in today’s market.

Generous Body Configurations

The F-150 offers itself in seven distinct trims, including the XL, XLT, Lariat, Raptor, King Ranch, Platinum, and Limited. You can then choose your ideal cab from a list of three: regular, extended (SuperCab), or crew (SuperCrew). Finally, pick the right bed length, whether your preference is 5 feet, 6 inches (short); 6 feet, 6 inches (standard); or 8 feet (long) in total.

Athletic Design

The 2018 Ford F-150 is engineered for tough jobs, which is why it needs the accessories to help it deliver with confidence. Kicking things off are wheels ranging from 17-inch silver steel to 22-inch polished aluminum, a center high-mounted stop lamp, and four-wheel drive front tow hooks. Meanwhile, optional upgrades include box side steps, telescopic trailer tow mirrors, and Raptor-tuned front fender flares.

Top-Notch Power

This truck runs with one of six energetic engines. The first is a 3.3-liter V-6 producing 290 horsepower and 265 pound-feet of torque. The second is a 2.7-liter EcoBoost V-6 generating 325 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque. The third is a 3.0-liter turbodiesel V-6 delivering 250 horsepower and 440 pound-feet of torque, plus a top highway rating of 30 mpg.

Next is a 5.0-liter V-8 churning out 395 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque. And after that, a 3.5-liter EcoBoost V-6 outputs 375 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque. At the top sits a Raptor-exclusive, high-output 3.5-liter V-6 pushing out 450 horsepower and 510 pound-feet of torque, which allows it to tow up to 13,200 pounds

Dynamic Performance

All trims are fashioned with four-wheel anti-lock disc brakes to ensure a stable foot on the road. In addition, they run in either two-wheel drive or optional four-wheel drive, the latter being standard on the Raptor. This trim also features a complete off-road package, including high-output racing shocks, BFGoodrich all-terrain tires, and a terrain management system with six selectable modes.

Practical Interior

You don’t have to settle for the basics behind the wheel of the Ford F-150. This pickup boasts seating surfaces ranging from soft-touch cloth to plush leather, as well as a tilt/telescopic steering wheel and a 12-volt power outlet. If you find yourself wanting to splurge further, features such as 10-way power-adjustable front seats, a Sync 3 infotainment hub with 8-inch touch screen, and a premium Bang and Olufsen audio system can be added to your interior package.

High-End Safety

To start, this pickup earned Top Safety Pick status from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. It complements this title with features like Safety Canopy side-curtain air bags, a post-crash alert system, and available inflatable second-row seat belts. Whereas driver-assist features, such as blind spot monitoring and adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, are both optional.
